Bodegraven City Hall: The Netherlands

Lighting control from a human perspective

The city hall of Bodegraven was being renovated and the main goal was to do this in a sustainable way while maintaining the current ceiling. Upgrading to LED lighting with integrated wireless lighting control was a critical part of this. The installation of all 400 luminaires with integrated Organic Response was realised in the span of a single weekend and the result was intelligent LED lighting!

Project

As the building was already existing and filled with old luminaires, there was a need to minimise costs while realising a system as smart as possible. The customer also wanted to maintain the existing ceiling and were seeking luminaires that could easily replace the old ones.

The consultant company DWA, compared different lighting control systems, but all solutions had the same disadvantage of higher installations costs for the additional wiring. The Answer? Organic Response!

Solution

When Fagerhult explained the advantages and possibilities of Organic Response (easy installing / built-in sensors / plug and play / no wires…) the choice was an easy one.

Different areas required different solutions. For the offices, as the luminaires needed to fit into the existing modular ceilings, Fagerhult selected the Recesso bandraster which was custom made for this project with integrated Organic Response sensors. For more high traffic areas and corridors, the Pleiad Evo was utilised, controlled by detached Organic Response sensors, providing a seamless intelligent wireless lighting control experience, with rapid installation.
